TRAVEL WITH CARE

From immunizations to comprehensive medical consultations, World Travel Care LLC ensures your next trip will be a safe and healthy one.

You carefully picked your travel dates, booked your flights and hotels, and planned the itinerary for that African safari or Alaskan cruise. But did you plan for your health? Vacations are expensive, and there’s nothing worse than spending them ill in a strange bed or being denied entry to a country due to lapsed or missing vaccinations.

Enter World Travel Care LLC (worldtravelcare.net), a Sandy Springs clinic that provides medical consultations for international travelers ages 8 and up.

Book a pre-trip clinic visit with its expert team of infectious disease experts and family nurse practitioners, who will ask detailed questions about your destination, itinerary and dates of travel to build a comprehensive health plan that includes vaccinations, preventative medications and other personalized medical advice.

“There are countries that require you to have a certain vaccine, and if you don’t know that, they could deny you entry, which is wasted time and money and very frustrating,” explains Olivia Mazzolini, FNP. In addition, she says most vaccines take two to four weeks to reach full efficacy, so planning ahead can ensure you get the most benefit from them.

According to Brooke Drucker, FNP, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines for vaccines and medication are often broad, so the clinic’s individual, trip-specific recommendations can save you money and help prevent illness. As she explains, “Someone going on a business trip to India for three days has different needs than someone backpacking through Thailand for four weeks.”

Each client receives necessary vaccinations as well as a personalized packing list, which includes items like Motrin, Imodium, bug spray, sunscreen and reminders about regular medications.

“Yes, we all have everyday products we use and like, but when traveling, you can’t be sure you’re going to have access to them or if they’re going to cost 10 times more,” says Mazzolini.

“People spend a lot of money on vacations, so as soon as you book a flight, find out what you need medically to prepare,” adds Drucker. “We are here to space out the costs and be helpful so you can have a safe trip.”
