Grab a beach towel, sunglasses, sunscreen and No. 1 New York Times bestselling author Emily Giffin’s new book for an ideal beach day. Her latest sure-to-be-doomed-romance novel is loosely influenced by JFK Jr. and Carolyn Bessette. Meant to Be (Ballantine Books, May 31) follows two unexpected lovers, as one has the weight of his family and expectations on him and the other has no one to impress. An instantaneous, intense connection develops between a golden boy and a troubled girl, but will a family curse and the weight of the spotlight crush them? emilygiffin.com

Tucked inside the first floor of Ponce City Market is new Persian fast-casual concept Bibi, from the team that brought Inman Park’s popular Middle Eastern restaurant Delbar. The name translates to a powerful, kindhearted woman and is named after owner Fares Kargar’s female relatives. Relish in freshly baked pastries, grab-and-go bowls with kabobs over rice and many more mouthwatering options. The restaurant theme is inspired by the countryside of Iran, with earth-toned plaster walls and lush greenery. 675 Ponce De Leon Ave. NE, bibi-eatery.com

After two decades, the first major survey from Bob Thompson is on display at the High Museum of Art. The Colby College Museum of Art has organized the nationally touring exhibit Bob Thompson: This House Is Mine. Following his trans-Atlantic journey, the art has visible Western canon influences, and the exhibit shows Thompson’s engagement with art history and figurative work. Although his life was cut short at just 28 years old, his legacy lives on through his many paintings such as “The Judgement of Paris” (1964). 1280 Peachtree St., high.org
