AFTER INSTANTLY HITTING IT OFF AT A TACKY SWEATER PARTY, Will Smith, a pitcher for the Atlanta Braves, and Taylor Dunagan immediately knew they hit a home run when meeting one another. On July 4, 2019, the couple took a trip to San Francisco, where Will planned to take Taylor on a boat across the bay. Not long after dinner, Will proposed with a round solitaire white gold band underneath fireworks that illuminated the water surrounding them.

The couple hosted their ceremony at Meadowlark 1939, a quaint country house with expansive grounds. Taylor glided down the aisle in an elegant gown designed by Made with Love, wearing Kate Spade New York shoes. Will’s ring was purchased in Peachtree City, with the phrase “Love You More” engraved on the inside, something that his bride says to him often. Afterward, the couple enjoyed Champagne and a white chocolate cake with triple berry filling alongside their closest family and friends.

The location matched the couple’s vision of a fall theme with simplistic and neutral colors. Florist Kelly Lenard “played with unique fall tones throughout the spectacular f loral installations.” Garden roses, berries and seasonal fall foliage poured from the bouquets while hydrangeas, persimmons and tulips comprised the couple’s centerpieces. The tables were draped with soft ivory velvet linens and copper napkins to carry out the neutral tones.

In order to fully engulf the guests in the fall season, the couple served hot apple cider surrounded by cozy fire pits upon arrival. During cocktail hour, Taylor and Will nodded to their engagement story with a miniature boat floating through the pool. Embracing Will’s love of baseball, guests signed baseballs, which were later repurposed into art for the newlyweds, instead of a traditional guest book. The couple also served chicken and waffles as hors d’oeuvres, tying in their Southern roots.

After an excellent duet from Taylor and Will to Whitney Houston’s “I Wanna Dance With Somebody” at their reception, the couple escaped to Montage Palmetto Bluff in Bluffton, S.C., for their honeymoon. They both agreed “it was the most peaceful, unique and breathtaking place.”
