First appearing on the market in 2006, Takedown Sportswear is the brainchild of founder Dustin Kawa. After realizing the lack of functionality in the world of men’s athletic apparel, Kawa decided to tap into the industry. “The products were too shiny, too slick and too loud,” says Kawa, referring to the big-name fitness brands. With that in mind, the fitness guru set out to create a brand that offered dynamic and customizable men’s clothing, embracing everything from performance to recovery.

Now, the sportswear brand is back in the spotlight after releasing its Takedown Collection, a clothing capsule inspired by both “the athletes and the athletes at heart,” shares design director Tom Raab, who created the line of versatile athletic gear in effortless yet trendy colorways. Designed with high-tech performance fabrics and innovative cuts, the fall/winter collection is suited for every athlete, with smart design elements including sustainable fabrications like bamboo blends, hi-vis elements for enhanced nighttime safety (because a little added protection from Atlanta’s drivers is never a bad thing); and verstile cuts that act as interchangeable essentials. Taking it a step further, the fall/ winter collection is completely customizable—from colors to logos to design accents and more—via the brand’s new Takedown 360-degree builder. As for the must-shop pieces? The Night Vision camo hoodie and jogger quickly showed face as the collection favorite, allowing Atlanta’s men fitness junkies to stand out in the urban jungle. 1675 Lakes Parkway, Ste. 111, Lawrenceville, takedownshop.com
