When Atlantan Stacey “Side” Sidles Ollinger and Carley “Car” Faircloth met each other years ago in Arizona, they both sensed their friendship would be a special, lifetime one. After years of crossing life’s milestones—moving, traveling and exploring together—they seemed to run into a recurring problem: Their expensive hats and travel accessories were getting bent beyond recognition in a carry-on or left behind at a gate, restaurant or hotel from where they were departing. It was soon after Faircloth’s recovery from a 2017 cancer diagnosis that the two friends got serious about their creative aspirations and the patented Sidecar OG (sidecarlove.com) was made a reality. “The brand is an absolute embodiment of our friendship with one another,” says Sidles Ollinger. “It was important to us that our product reflect our vision of design aesthetic along with full utility.” The Sidecar features 24K gold and premium leather designed in a three-piece set that includes a clip, an adjustable side strap and an affixable sidepiece—a hands-free and stylish solution to carrying hats and other baubles.
