If you’re like us, you’re still reeling from New York Fashion Week. It was a whirlwind celebration of vision and poise, a triumphant return for the fashion industry and New York City after a year spent living in sweat pants on the couch.
If you couldn’t make it to the shows, you can still experience some of that fun with one of these look-inspired cocktails. Recreate the runway in your own home. With one of these delightful drinks in your hand, you do in fact look like a model.

Surf Lodge’s The Pink Flamingo
Inspired by LA-based brand Staud’s ravishingly pink maxi dress, this flamingo drink will transport you to a tropical paradise. This recipe comes courtesy of The Hamptons’ Surf Lodge. It’s full of citrus bursts, perfect for a bright sunny day.
Ingredients
- 2 oz Martini & Rossi Fiero
- 1 oz tequila
- 2 oz Whispering Angel
- ½ oz agave
- 1 oz lemon juice
- 4 oz watermelon juice
- 3 oz Acqua Panna water
- 1/3 oz saline
Directions
Place all ingredients in a cocktail mixer and stir gently. Serve over crushed ice in a tumbler and adorn with flamingo accoutrements if desired. This recipe can also be batched and blended with ice in a blender for a slushy style
Fiero & Tonic
If red is more your color, try this bold Martini & Rossi Fiero and tonic, inspired by Proenza Shouler’s fiery maxi dress. Fiero means “proud” in Italian, so go ahead and strut about town.
Ingredients
- 1 part Martini & Rossi Fiero
- 1 part tonic water
Directions
Pack a balloon glass with ice and pour in an equal ratio of Martini & Rossi Fiero and tonic water. Stir gently for a few moments and garnish with an orange wheel.
James Whiteside’s Ballerino
Celeb designer Christian Siriano didn’t pull any punches with his Spring/Summer 2022 finale look, and neither will you with this refined-yet-fruity cocktail made from bourbon, kombucha and more. This cocktail was also inspired by American Ballet Theater Principal Dancer James Whiteside, so give us a twirl.
Ingredients
- 1 oz Angel’s Envy bourbon
- 1 oz St-Germain elderflower liqueur
- 2 oz sparkling water
- 1 oz ginger-lemon kombucha
- ½ oz lemon juice
- 2 drops Bittercube Jamaican No 1 Bitters
- Garnish: micro blossom confetti
Directions
Build ingredients over pebbled ice in a Collins glass and add confetti garnish.
Dry Le Sud
Let’s take a trip to France with this spritz inspired by Rodarte’s breezy and brilliant, seaside-ready gown. We feel lighter already.
Ingredients
- 2½ parts Noilly Prat Extra Dry
- Chilled Perrier sparkling water
- Frozen green grapes speared on a stirrer
- Small ice spheres
Directions
Stack small ice spheres all the way to the top until peaking over the washline. Pour Noilly Prat Extra Dry over ice spheres, top with chilled Perrier, and garnish with frozen grapes.
Fleurita
Purple petal daydream. That’s how we’d describe Ulla Johnson’s gorgeous spring-day look, and those feelings come to life in full flavor with this St-Germain and tequila mixture.
Ingredients
- ½ oz St-Germain Elderflower Liqueur
- 1 ½ oz tequila
- 1 oz clarified cucumber juice
- ½ oz orange blossom syrup (combine 1 cup of cane sugar and 1 cup water and gently heat until dissolved. Remove from the heat and add 2 tsp of orange blossom water)
- ¼ oz citric acid solution (whisk 10 ml or 2 tsp of citric acid (lemon or citrus juice) with 100 ml of water)
- Spray of lavender bitters
Directions
Combine ingredients in a cocktail tin and shake, then strain over ice. Garnish with fennel pollen salt and a bouquet of edible flowers.
The Japanese Smooth Highball
Japanese whisky is ultra-smooth, and so is this warm little suit number from Phillip Lim. Pair your sophisticated look with a cocktail that’s as powerful as you are.
Ingredients
- 1 ½ oz Dewar’s Japanese Smooth whisky
- 3 oz chilled soda water
- Orange twist garnish
Directions
Add whisky to a chilled highball glass filled with ice spears. Stir and gently top with chilled soda water. Place a bar spoon under the ice and stir a few times, being careful not to over stir. Spray with the aromatic oil of the orange twist, and garnish.
Spicy Mango Daiquiri
Muy caliente! We adore this yellow showstopper from Christian Siriano. It’s sweet and spicy, kind of like the mix of hellfire bitters and mango syrup in this must-try mix. Don’t forget the Tajin rim!
Ingredients
- 1 ½ oz Santa Teresa 1796
- 1 oz lime juice
- ½ oz Monin Mango Syrup
- 1-2 dash Scrappy’s Hellfire Bitters
Directions
Combine all in tin. Add ice. Shake. Fine strain in a chilled but iceless coupe glass, rimmed with Tajin. Garnish with a lime wheel.
Anna Sui’s Paradisiac
Anna Sui’s collection was inspired by Shangri-La, and this cocktail can take you there with floral notes of hibiscus, ginger, lime and tequila. Thank you to Earlecia Richelle who crafted this cocktail for St-Germain.
Ingredients
- 1 oz St-Germain Elderflower Liqueur
- 1 oz Cazadores Blanco Tequila
- 2 oz Butterfly Pea Tea (boil butterfly pea tea bag in water, cool for 2 minutes then strain and add lime juice to turn purple)
- 1 oz Q Hibiscus Ginger Beer
- ¼ oz fresh lime juice
- 1 dash of Peychaud's Bitters
Directions
Build ingredients over ice cubes in a tall glass.
Laura Kim’s Rosé Spritz
As Co-Creative Director for Oscar de la Renta, Laura Kim knows how to take classic style and give it a modern spin. Her playful yet poised mini dress helped close out the show, and this delicate yet daring drink made from St-Germain and rose is the perfect accompaniment.
Ingredients
- 1 oz St-Germain Elderflower Liqueur
- 2 ½ oz strawberry-infused rosé wine (infuse 4 cups of quartered strawberries into a 750 ml bottle of rosé wine for at least 3 hours, then double strain)
- 2 oz Sparkling Yuzu
Directions
Build ingredients over floral ice cubes in a wine glass. Garnish with cherry blossom ice cubes, made from freezing petals in water with a tray
Carine's Signature Grey Goose Apple Martini
Inspired by this flashy look from Tom Ford's Spring 2022 RTW collection, this modern take on a '90s classic hits all the right notes. It was cooked up by editor and stylist Carine Roitfeld who worked with Ford to prepare this show. The apple martini happens to be Ford's favorite cocktail, too.
Ingredients
- 1½ Oz Grey Goose La Poire Vodka
- ½ Oz Calvados
- ⅓ Oz Ancho Reyes chilis
- ½ Oz Lime
- 1.½ Oz Fresh Apple Juice Cocktail Shimmer
Directions
Shake all ingredients with Ice. Serve up in a Martini glass and garnish with an Apple Fan.
