Under the mentorship of Bill Musso, Musso Design Group (mussodesigngroup.com), Todd Falconbury went from intern status to the new owner of the design firm, merging Musso’s foundations with Falconbury Design, Inc. To begin the transition, the firm found a new home close to its first location at ADAC and the perfect opportunity for a fresh start. Falconbury is deeply rooted in the design community, but it begs the question of his journey to get where he is today and how he found Bill Musso. “Throughout my life, my love for design has remained consistent. Initially, I pursued my passion by studying architecture in Indiana after finishing high school to pursue a career in landscape and architectural design,” says Falconbury. However, he unintentionally landed in the corporate world and returned to school after that stint to hone his design background. “I met Bill Musso through my instructor at AIU Buckhead. After completing my degree in Fine Arts in 2008, I was hired as a full-time designer, and now in 2022, I am the proud owner of the company, ” he reflects on how fate led him to Bill Musso. Musso desired to pursue other opportunities, and who better than Falconbury to take the reins. “Bill has been coaching me on the business side of our company for the past couple of years to prepare for the transition; surprisingly, it has been easy,” he says. Now that the torch has been passed, Bill can rest easy knowing his passion is in good hands with Falconbury, “The elements of Musso Design Group that can be seen in Falconbury Design Studio are their appreciation for modernism with a hint of classicism,” he says, “Both companies share a fondness for incorporating distinct details, incorporating discovered items, adding pops of color, and following a less is more approach.” Although there is a new face in the design group, Musso’s knowledge and legacy are ingrained in Falconbury, from which he will build upon the already established pillars for the next generation of designers.
