Adara Boutique celebrates their first anniversary! Husband and Wife team, Nasheed Sabree and Jahara Kelly opened the only apparel shop in the East Atlanta development, The Beacon Atlanta. Adara is the couple’s first brick and mortar, carrying collections that are trendy yet timeless and modest. The store was launched after much success with their online boutique: adaraonline.com.
The couple was attending grad school in the northeast and got married at the sweet age of 22. Jahara Kelly is from New Jersey but Nasheed is an Atlanta native and brought her back home after they finished school. Once Jahara came to Atlanta, she noticed that southern fashions were different from what she was used to in the northeast. Shopping options vastly contrasts from one region to the next, which inspired the couple to start Adara. “Watching Jahara shop was a challenge, she’d find a piece that she liked but needed to find another piece to make it modest,” Nasheed recalls. Jahara and Nasheed are Muslims, which requires women to dress in a way that does not show their form. However, this rule does not negate the desire to look chic. Jahara was no exception to this and she and her husband decided to address this challenge by creating an option for women in search of a modest look. As the company progressed, the interest of their three children peaked, who proudly identifies Adara as, “Our business.”
Adara has become an endeavour for their entire family; an endeavour for the East Atlanta community, providing a unique option of apparel to the Atlanta shopping experience.
