The holiday falls on Monday, May 30 and Atlanta is offering a variety of ways to honor the military and its veterans. Whether you’re looking for a somber service to honor your loved one or a lighthearted cap to your week, we’ve got you covered with activities hosted throughout Atlanta this Memorial Day weekend.

Alpharetta Arts Streetfest

Explore rows and rows of arts and craft vendors at the Alpharetta Arts Streetfest on Saturday, May 28 and Sunday, May 29. With over 100 artists exhibiting at the outdoor gallery, guests can be sure there will be some diamonds in the rough.

Unable to attend the festival in-person? No worries, there will be an online marketplace featuring work by all the exhibiting artists open from Saturday, May 21 to Saturday, June 4. Check the website for an updated link to the shop as the date approaches.

Atlanta Memorial Day Classic 5K

Run for the military members who have given their lives for this country. Head to Old Historic Fourth Ward Park on Monday, May 30 at 10 a.m. to run a 5K with proceeds going to fund an entertainment production for the US Military South Com. The final mile is called the Soldiers Final Mile and race times from this segment will be scored competitively. Registration can be done here.

Atlanta R&B Wine Food & Music Festival

2515 Park Drive, Decatur/ Website

Enjoy fine wines, tasty cuisine and fabulous live bands on Saturday, May 28 at the Atlanta R&B Wine, Food & Music Festival. There will be wine tastings, wine courses to observe and of course a souvenir wine glass to take home. All visitors must be 21 years old and above to attend. Tickets can be purchased here.

Memorial Day Ceremony
