I have a feeling green is going to be the nail color of 2022. Recently, I have been playing around with green of all different shades, and without fail it looks amazing on all clients. Green adds a fun pop of color to any manicure for any occasion. Green also happens to be my favorite color which is why it has been even more fun to work with Hornitos Tequila Seltzer on elaborate nail designs that incorporate and highlight their brand green. They are already ahead of the color trend for 2022.

90’s Style Nails

90’s style nails have been top of mind lately. 2021 brought us the reintroduction of the French manicure. I am so excited to see these once-popular styles making a strong comeback in a new and inventive way by adding bright colors and fun twists on timeless, classic styles. My favorite 90’s style nails are the swirl and dot combination styles that were in high demand during that decade, and I am ready to put a new spin to update this once beloved style for 2022.

Charms and Hoops

I think all the wild add-ons such as hoops and nail charms will show up more and more in the new year. They are definitely growing on me, and while they are not always the most practical nail option, they are undoubtedly an attention grabber. When it comes to nails, we do not always prioritize practicality over making a statement. It is all about making a statement with your nails, and 2022 will not be an exception!

Intricate Designs

With intricate nail designs making a huge splash on social media this year, I think in general, intricacy and detailed designs will continue to be a substantial trend that isn’t going away anytime soon. Complex designs like color blocking, houndstooth and plaid have been popping up all over the place. Luckily, the longer the nail, the more detail, and design we are able to fit onto it!

Nail Decals, Wraps, and Press-ons

Beyond design trends, I believe nail decals, wraps and press-ons will gain a lot more traction in 2022. They make even the trickiest design achievable with a few simple steps. Not everyone has the time or wants to sit in a chair for hours to achieve their desired nail look, so these provide fantastic alternatives for when you are hoping to save time, money, or simply prefer the DIY method.
