Two is a company, but three is the Jimmy Choo Chasing Stars Collection.

The iconic shoe brand has announced the visionary collection in collaboration with two brilliant creatives: New York-based artist and designer Eric Haze, and Japanese fashion icon and guest style curator Poggy. The Chasing Stars Collection was also overseen by Jimmy Choo’s London-based Creative Director Sandra Choi.

Three creative minds blend in a collection that merges sophistication with loud, modern graphics to create men’s, women’s and unisex footwear styles, as well as bags and other accessories.

Taking inspiration from the ‘80s art and music scene of downtown New York, the collection utilizes Haze’s non-figurative designs..

“Once the 1980s was in my mind, it was easy for me to think about Eric; because of his involvement in the music scene, both art and music, and hip-hop culture,” Poggy is quoted in a press release. “Also, what I’m inspired by is classic-style fashion that was prevalent in Japan as well. So, all of that combined together is where my mind is right now with the execution for the capsule.”

Both Haze and Jimmy Choo share a distinguishable, signature star emblem. With permission, Jimmy Choo incorporated Haze’s design into a shared symbol. The new conception decorates stilettos, loafers and bags in the collection.

The unisex loafers portray the opposing sensations of “grit and glamour,” with “broken” crystals as the primary design. An urban sprawl motif creates a sense of irony as the “perfect going out” mini tote bag. Haze’s playful and bold graphics produce an energetically-glamorous collection.

“We’re trying to do the magic trick of being sophisticated on a luxury level while still being historically authentic on a street level,” Haze is quoted. “It’s really satisfying to me to be part of a collection that I want to wear, that I want my friends to have, that I want to send out to every fashionable person I know.”

Debuting with the collection is a “cult collectible” toy, a Be@rbrick by the Japanese Medicom Toy company, created in collaboration with the designers. The piece is an iridescent figure with the signature light, sparkle and stars from Jimmy Choo and Eric Haze.
