MAGIC TOUCH

Dr. Amir Banishahi of Le Reve Spinal Care & Pain Management Clinic uses state-of-the-art technology to treat his patients from head to toe.

Around 20 years ago, Dr. Amir Banishahi’s ankle was so swollen from an injury, a doctor told him it might need to be amputated and he may never walk again. Shocked by the doctor’s lack of compassion and unwilling to accept such a dire prognosis, he began treating himself with the most advanced laser therapy available at the time and has since made a full recovery.

That experience with chronic pain has shaped him into the compassionate doctor he is today. As the owner of Le Reve Spinal Care & Pain Management Clinic, he uses state-of-the-art technology to treat his patients from head to toe. The centerpiece of his cozy office in a tree-lined office complex in northwest Atlanta is a noninvasive, Class IV and FDA-approved high-intensity laser, the only one of its kind in the state of Georgia. Used to manage symptoms of everything from PTSD to fibromyalgia to common sprains and strains, the laser is strong enough to regenerate cells, helping to reduce pain and speed up healing of damaged tissues. This technology, along with other state-of-the-art services like electromagnetic shock wave therapy as well as a 3D digital foot scanner for customer orthotics have made his practice a go-to for members of Atlanta Ballet and the Atlanta Falcons and patients from across the Southeast.

“I think most people have misconceptions about chiropractors,” he says of his chosen field. “They think you just go and get adjusted, but as a medical chiropractor, I can do everything a medical doctor does except write prescriptions and do injections.”

His holistic approach to care is designed to avoid the latter two actions as much as possible. “I personally suffered from pain for such a long time that I want to do something different for my patients that helps them with their pain, so they don’t have to get injections or put prescriptions in their body over and over again,” he explains.

An instructor at Life University and Chamberlain University College of Nursing, Banishahi brings that passion for education to his clinic, oft en guiding patients through their symptoms and treatment options with the assistance of an anatomy app. “A lot of people don’t know what’s underlying their pain or have never had their conditions explained to them in a way they can understand,’’ he says. That patience and attentiveness has garnered him a large and loyal clientele that spans the Southeast and even generations of families. “I have some patients who started coming to me when they were single that now bring their kids and parents,” he continues. The key to his success? “When I treat patients, I treat them with my whole heart.” lerevespinalcare.com
