A new Atlanta-based olive snack hits Southeastern store shelves, proving to be the perfect office snack, hostess gift or party accoutrement.

Friends don’t let friends snack poorly. In our offices, on the way to car pool or just hanging around the house—there is always a time to snack. It may be the only second in your day you can savor, so why not make that snack worthwhile? Enter Atlanta-based Freestyle Snacks (freestylesnacking.com). “It really takes a village to rebrand an olive. We knew we loved the product and we loved snacking, we just needed to put the two together,” says founder and newly minted CEO Nikki Seaman. As a former management consultant at Bain & Company, Seaman saw a need for a health-conscious, convenient and truly craveable product in the snack market. “I loved to snack on olives—they are low-cal, savory and truly delicious—but I didn’t want to look crazy bringing a jar or can of olives in the office every day,” says Seaman. “It was that initial thought that paved the way for Freestyle—an easier way to eat and enjoy high-quality Greek olives.” But it doesn’t end there; these olives can be on the go with no oily/liquid mess that threatens a spill, or they can be easily added to a spread of savory bites for a wine and charcuterie moment. “‘Why olives?’ is always the first question people ask me,” says Seaman. “From a business perspective, the market is growing, and pain points in the category resonate broadly. But, even more so from a passion perspective, I love delicious food and find so much joy in sharing it with others. With Freestyle Snacks, I’m doing exactly that—giving olive lovers what they deserve: a flavorful, high-quality, savory olive snack in a convenient, liquid-free pouch.” Enjoy three inaugural flavor launches: green olives marinated in extravirgin olive oil, minced garlic and lemon peel; green olives marinated in EVOO and one-of-a-kind spicy Calabrian chili blend; or Kalamata olives with EVOO and a hint of sea salt. The days of eyeball-esque olives stuffed in jars and compressed in cans are far behind thanks to Freestyle, with its female founder ushering in a new era of snacking.
