Lifestyle,
Chase Mizell has been in the real estate business for 15 years, but he's just getting started.
“When I was a kid growing up in East Cobb, my friends and I would drive into the city at night and roam all around Buckhead and all the nice in-town neighborhoods. We’d just admire all the homes and their uplighting. ... I guess you could say luxury homes and architecture always intrigued me,” says Chase Mizell, a realtor with Atlanta Fine Homes Sotheby’s International Realty and this issue’s dynamic Man of the Moment. Since Mizell’s early fascination with good design and luxe homes, he has garnered an impressive list of accolades including the No. 1 producing individual agent in Atlanta by Atlanta Realtors Association, the No. 1 agent company-wide for Atlanta Fine Homes Sotheby’s International Realty in 2020, the two most expensive home sales in Atlanta’s history ($17 million and $15.5 million), the Mr. Harry Norman Senior Award for most outstanding transaction in 2016 and lifetime membership status in the Atlanta Realtors Association Multi-Million Dollar Sales Club.
The ubercompetitive and successful realtor has made a name for himself in Atlanta’s luxury home market, creating a network of clientele who trust and admire him for his extreme perfectionism that sets him apart from the rest of the players in the industry. “I’m always competing with myself,” says Mizell. “After 15 years in the business, I’m really prideful that I’ve honed my skills in presentation, negotiation and market preparation.”
When not running off to showings and closings, Mizell likes to unwind and entertain at his new 1920s Buckhead abode, seen here. “My home is my sanctuary. I’m always on and working, so when I’m home, my surroundings allowing me to exhale is very important to me,” says Mizell. “When I’m not out in the field, my life partner and I are big entertainers and we love to invite clients and friends over to enjoy dinner and wine.”
Whatever the task, Mizell is up for the challenge, beating his records year after year and truly championing Atlanta’s unique Southern architectural style as well as its new-age elegance. “We are lucky in Atlanta to have historic neighborhoods like Ansley Park, Morningside and Buckhead,” says Mizell. “And while my specialty is luxury homes in these markets, I have also set sales records in four different counties throughout metro Atlanta.”
And Mizell isn’t stopping anytime soon. “You have to have tenaciousness. You have to be a self-starter. You have to be motivated. You have to be customer service-oriented and empathetic,” says Mizell. “As a realtor, you are dealing with someone’s most valuable asset, and it can be a very emotional experience to go through the sales or buying process, so you really have to wear many hats at the same time.”
