Join us for the third annual Battle for the Brain, a lip sync competition to raise funds for Emory’s Goizueta Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center, hosted by Daughters Against Alzheimer’s (DAA)! This live performance, live voting charity event is a high-energy team competition among Atlanta’s leaders, including the Atlanta Falcons Cheerleaders, Atlanta’s Top Chefs, Delta Air Lines, Dorsey Alston Realtors, Morgan Stanley, Wesley Franklin featuring Stronger Together, RCG Ventures, Ryder, The SEEiT Choir featuring Steve Penley Art and Womble Bond Dickinson.  The signature event of DAA, Battle for the Brain has raised more than $700,000 since 2017, which is dedicated to DAA Plan 2025, the goal to raise $10 million to prevent and effectively treat Alzheimer’s by 2025.

2020 Fashion a Cure Show- Friends of Winship

St. Regis Atlanta- 88 West Paces Ferry Road

The Friends of Winship Fashion a Cure Fashion Show, which has raised over $1 million since 2013, increases awareness and provides funding to advance research in cancers that affect women.

Fashions for the event are donated by local boutiques and are modeled by cancer survivors and others whose lives have been affected by cancer. On the runway, cancer survivors carry a red rose, caregivers and loved ones a yellow rose and Winship physicians and staff a white rose.

The event also features a silent auction and raffle of items given by the participating boutiques and other donors. Everyone who attends the Fashion a Cure event is touched by cancer in some way, and the collective mood of compassion and support is palpable.

The 2020 Friends of Winship Fashion a Cure Fashion show will be held Monday, March 9, at the St. Regis Atlanta. Co-chairs Blair Mann, her daughter Elizabeth Hogan, and daughter-in-law Margaret Warren have gathered a dynamic team of volunteers to produce another successful event.

Turkish modern furniture design company, LAZZONI will open it's doors to it's 5th US based showroom in Atlanta, Georgia in early March. With showrooms spanning four continents, Atlanta locals will no longer need to visit NYC to visit the LAZZONI showroom. This 5,000 square foot space is a new build for the company who has a manfacturing history dating back to 1905.

Swan House Ball- The Atlanta History Center

Honoring Lovette Twyman Russell, the 2020 Swan House Ball is being chaired by Roz Brewer, Vicki Palmer, and Jack Sawyer. This favorite Atlanta tradition continues to be an annual spring engagement on calendars around town and will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2020.

Lovette Twyman Russell is admired for her passionate work as a community connector and change-making champion for worthy organizations throughout our city. A former Swan House Ball co-chair and instrumental on the Atlanta History Center’s Cyclorama Committee, Lovette and her family have played an important role in the organization’s recent transformation.

Joining our team for the 2020 Swan House Ball is a trio of outstanding event chairmen – Roz Brewer (Chief Operating Officer and Group President of Starbucks), Vicki Palmer (President of The Palmer Group, LLC), and Jack Sawyer (President, Southeast Region of Wilmington Trust Wealth Advisory Group).

Many grateful thanks go to Jenny Pruitt for her leadership of the 2019 Swan House Ball. Under Jenny’s guidance and with her support along with the support of generous donors, the 2019 Swan House Ball was record-breaking! The Atlanta History Center is so thankful for your generosity.

The Swan House Ball raises critical funds each year to benefit both the care of the historic Swan House and the educational activities of the Atlanta History Center.
