Chateau Elan Winery

Enjoying a glass of wine is a no-brainer year-round, but there’s something magical about a crisp white or a berry-forward red on a fall day. Sitting under 50 miles from city center, Chateau Elan Winery is one of the East Coast’s most awarded wineries. Over 30 wines and rolling hills of vineyards await at the North Georgia winery, open for guided tours and tastings this fall. 100 Rue Charlemagne, Braselton, 678.425.0900, winery.chateauelan.com

Tucktoberfest

Celebrate the season with the final days of Tucker Brewing Company’s Tucktoberfest. Drawing inspiration from Munich’s Oktoberfest, the celebration includes stein holding, festive decorations, live music and, of course, great German-style lagers and pilsners. 2003 S Bibb Drive, Tucker, 833.752.2400, tuckerbrewing.com

Stone Mountain Park Pumpkin Festival

This Atlanta fall classic will get you and the whole family in the autumn spirit before you can finish your pie at the pumpkin pie eating contest. Open through October, this festival includes classic activities such as pumpkin painting and eating seasonal treats. The new Nighttime Parade keeps the festivities alive afterdark, complete with incredible pumpkin decor and a fireworks finale. 1000 Robert E Lee Blvd., Stone Mountain, 800.401.2407, stonemountainpark.com

Blue Ridge Scenic Railway

Immerse yourself in history while enjoying the foliage on this train ride through the Appalachian foothills of North Georgia. The journey begins at the historic train depot in downtown Blue Ridge, and then continues with a 26-mile trip along the Toccoa River. Enjoy a two-hour layover in the historic sister towns of McCaysville, Georgia and Copperhill, Tennessee, before returning to Blue Ridge through the scenic forest. 241 Depot St., Blue Ridge, 877.413.8724, brscenic.com

Gibbs Gardens

At 150+ acres, Gibbs Gardens is one of the nation’s largest residential estate gardens. Visitors flock to the gardens in Ball Grounds every fall to enjoy the spectacular foliage. Expect to see colorful wildflowers and Japanese maples in the fall months. After enjoying the gardens, head to the Arbor Cafe for a fresh sandwich and a hot chocolate. 1987 Gibbs Dr, Ball Ground, 770.0893.1880, gibbsgardens.com

Timberline Glamping Company

With locations in Lake Lanier and Clarks Hill Lake, Timberline Glamping Company gives you the chance to comfortably immerse yourself in fall’s splendor. Enjoy the foliage from your beautiful tent, complete with heating, an incredibly comfortable bed and unfettered nature views.
