My big sister, Beatrice (left), and I love to drive around in my pink Bentley (the license plate even says Sassy) while donning attire designed by our mom
Meet these two posh pups you might see driving down Peachtree Road.
Oops—I didn’t see you there with the sun reflecting off the hood of my baby pink Bentley. Not that I need an introduction (I’m known around the city for my signature colorful hair bows and for accompanying my mom, Cathleen Smith Bresciani, to the hottest restos for a rendezvous), but that’s me, Sassafrass Maybelline Jones, in the red coat with my 6-year-old sister, Beatrice Brown Bresciani, a Brussels Griffon. You can call me Sassy. My mom adopted me as a pure-bred Pekingese pup—she even said, “There was no question that she was coming home with me”—and the rest, as they say, is history. Now you can spot me dodging the paparazzi during my weekly trips to the gym to see my personal trainer; scheduling regular at-home appointments with my hairstylist for a proper grooming; and checking in with my L.A.-based psychic, Candi Cane Cooper.
In my Buckhead manse, I’m usually lounging in my Louis Philippe bed; otherwise, I’m roaming the stores with my nanny, Miss Sharon, for a new squeaky toy to add to my vast collection (of which my favorite by far is the array of Haute Diggity Dog toys, especially the custom Verdura-inspired one). Because every pup needs their outlet, mine is traveling—which is why my mom designed custom pet carriers (with matching outfits to boot) for my older sister and me. I love taking a first-class flight to Los Angeles, where my second home is located. My mom and I will hit the palm tree-lined streets, shopping and perusing the latest in dogwear (you should see my closet—Carrie Bradshaw would be jealous).
I even finally convinced Beatrice to join in on our West Coast excursions. She’s a little more reserved than my sprightly 2-year-old self, but we still get along superwell, unless a toy is involved... then she goes total big-sister mode and pulls the elder card—but at least I have well over 50 toys for the choosing. OK, well, it’s been great chatting, but we’ve got to drive off now—don’t want to be late for our pampering appointment!
