Keisha Noel and Aladdin
A collaboration between jewelry designer Keisha Noel of KZ Noel and Miami-based graffiti artist Aladdin can be summed up in one word by Noel: serendipity. “I believe in serendipity,” she says. “I am a huge fan of Aladdin’s work, and a mutual friend introduced us—the rest was magic!” The rest being, of course, a leather and diamond collection dubbed Graffiti Ice that speaks to their commonalities as Noel describes them: “dreamers, creators, working artists.”
For Noel and her collaborator, the process was “quite easy; Aladdin designed the letters, and I worked with my craftsmen to construct letters that would look beautiful when set into diamonds.” Noel, who grew up passing by graffiti during trips on the commuter train in her hometown of Chicago, vividly remembers the impact the colorful designs had on her. Cuffs with verbiage such as “Peach & Hustle” or “Amor” are available, as are the custom options for which Noel is known. “I really wanted to combine the gritty elements of graffiti with oddly shaped rough stones to create a beautiful intersection of femininity and masculinity. It’s my inner rock star come to life.” Standard pieces from $1,300, with customization available
