A Day in the Life of Buckhead's Most Pampered Poodle

For dog parents Elizabeth DuPree Lynch and Dr. William Helvie, their pampered standard poodle, Louis Vincent, is the protector of their Buckhead abode.

Keeping an eye on the small outdoor animals from the kitchen’s banquet, lapping up a freshly brewed French cafe latte, sifting through my sea of toys piled in the library—that’s just my morning routine. I’m up and ready to run the moment my mom, Lizzie, and dad, Billy, call “LV!” (short for Louis Vincent). Though I come from an impeccable lineage of grand champion show poodles—my birth parents were both awardwinning purebreds—that doesn’t stop my spirited 3-year-old self from giving into my playful side. I love dancing with my mommy and daddy to Rod Stewart, practicing tricks I learned during my four months at Kamer Canine College in California and chasing the squirrels around our gated home—I haven’t caught one yet, but I think the day is soon approaching when I will. However, from weekly visits to Vinings Important Pets to see my personal groomers, Colleen and Susana, who both keep my luscious black coat a perfect balance of uy and smooth (and in the traditional French cut, mind you) to picking up my afternoon girl poodle play date in the Rolls-Royce with a bottle of rosé or Champagne (I prefer Krug), I always live in true VIP fashion. It’s no truer than when it comes to my meals, which are prepared by hand for me twice a day and topped o with my favorite SmartBones treat. But when you’re a lady’s man like me, is there any other way to be?
