Fashion a Cure 2018

| June 6, 2018 | Parties

The sixth annual Fashion a Cure runway show drew quite the stylish crowd to support Friends of Winship.

THE PARTY: Joining event chairs Dr. Julie Levine and Dell Rearden, over 500 well-heeled Atlantans arrived at The St. Regis Atlanta prepared for a posh evening of fashion and fare. A striking runway show emceed by Fredricka Whitfield boasted silhouettes from local boutiques and designers, with cancer survivors as well as Winship Cancer Institute’s doctors, caregivers and volunteers donning the chic threads on the catwalk.

THE GUESTS: Cathy Allen, Lola Battle, Elizabeth Morgan Spiegel, Janet Turman

THE HIGHLIGHTS: Fashions from 16 of Atlanta’s top shops were worn by the models carrying a red, yellow or white rose, signifying they are a cancer survivor, have a family member touched by cancer or are a Winship employee, respectively. Thanks to Atlantans’ eager participation in the silent auction and raffle, the fete raised $300,000, which will fund a new advanced piece of equipment to help researchers better understand how cancer develops and how cells will respond to treatment. -Dana Gardner
