A brand-new collab between Atlanta-based interior designer Delinah Simmons and lauded leather goods company Pavoni is just the collection Atlantans have been looking for.

dee_simmons_rug_2.jpgOne of the Delinah Simmons for Pavoni hair-on-hide offerings, this Free Diamond rug spreads 8 by 10 feet and is the perfect pop of color in any room.

The collaboration between Delinah Simmons and Pavoni started as all good ones do—organically, over dinner. “It was a purely spontaneous moment,” says Simmons, who recently bowed her new showroom at ADAC. “Alan Newberry, the CEO of Pavoni—whose line we represent—wanted to offer something special in a hair-on-hide rug, so he invited me to design and collaborate on a full leather hide rug collection. We’re both delighted with the results of Delinah Simmons for Pavoni and excited to offer them to the global market.” And she means global: The rugs will not only be offered internationally, but also have quite a few touch points throughout the world. French hides are used; the tanning process happens in Italy; and each rug is handstitched by craftsmen whose trade has been perfected over generations in Turkey. It’s not Simmons’ first go-round with rugs, though “it was completely different working with hides.” But, she is quick to note, “still as exciting as my other wool and silk creations.” Choose from 40 standard colors, which can be mixed and matched on 15 standard designs, or go completely custom—all on a relatively short lead time of six to eight weeks. From $79 net per square foot, Delinah Simmons, ADAC, Ste. 308
