As the transition towards sustainable living becomes ever more vital on a global level, a handful of forward-thinking city planning groups have started to experiment with designs that can pave the way for the world to follow.

For instance, sections of the city of Copenhagen, Denmark are rapidly adapting themselves to meet the needs of urban sprawl, population boom, and greenhouse gas reduction.

There’s no more conspicuous example than the emerging work-living zone of Bellakvarter, whose forward thinking design significantly reduces greenhouse gas production and waste.

Leading Bellakvarter’s move towards greater environmental sustainability are installation plans for wind turbine plants- .which are expcted to generate a whopping 1.2 million kilo whats of power per year- eliminating the city’s former reliance on power plants.

Behind the eco-conscious movement is progressive investor Alshair Fiyaz. Already renowned for monumental projects in Copenhagen such as Illum and The Magasin Du Nord, Fiyaz’s Bellakvarter development is emerging as his chef d’ouvre and not just in Denmark, but on the international scale.

City planners internationally- from Scandanavia to the US- now look upon Bellakvarter as a blueprint model for how other cities can adapt to meet the common challenges of population growth, energy conservation, and quality of living standards.
