The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra hit the right note once again at its annual Atlanta Symphony Gala, this year hosted at the Four Seasons Hotel Atlanta.
THE PARTY Nearly 300 of Atlanta’s denizens dressed to the nines to celebrate and support the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra’s efforts to raise funds for its educational and community programs at this year’s Atlanta Symphony Gala. Displays from Tony Brewer & Company made the Classical Elegance-themed evening all the more chic with magnificent purple, green and white floral centerpieces. THE GUESTS Lynn Eden, honorees Lila and Doug Hertz, ASO chair Howard Palefsky and Victoria Palefsky, Patty and Doug Reid, Susan and Thomas Wardell THE HIGHLIGHTS While student musicians from the Atlanta Symphony Youth Orchestra and the Talent Development Program serenaded the crowd, guests nibbled on hors d’oeuvres of prosciutto and burrata crostini with fig jam; apricot Yorkshire cheese with brandied apricot and arugula pesto; and chicken Wellington. But perhaps the biggest highlight of the night was a $100,000 match made by a generous anonymous donor for Fund-a-Need. By the time the night was over, guests had raised an impressive $500,000 for the Symphony’s education and community programs. -
