3 Q's with Atlanta's Modern Mystic Shop

Chances are you or someone you know has crystals buried in their yard to ward off bad spirits, or consults a psychic or energy healer regularly—it’s become much more commonplace as a means of confidence, strength and empowerment. Whether you seek enlightenment or a custom-size amethyst or lapis lazuli, heal and guide with the tools available at Ponce City Market’s new Modern Mystic Shop, including owner Kelley Knight.

Why is Modern Mystic so relevant today?
"The intention behind Modern Mystic Shop is to make mystical practices approachable for modern-day seekers. We offer a light, bright aesthetic and beautifully curated handmade goods that create a welcoming environment. There’s a growing segment of people who consider themselves ‘spiritual,’ which often extends beyond any religious affiliation. We offer an educational space for those exploring alternate methods of growing and connecting to their own intuition and inner power. We believe that everyone contains magic within them, and we love to help people actualize that magic in their day-to-day experiences.”

What’s your intention?
“Our primary focus is to offer intentionally made, small-batch tools for deeper inner connection and healing. More than just the products, we offer consultation and education to help customers understand how to most effectively utilize these items for their own personal growth and transformation. All of our intentionally made goods are created by a female-owned and-operated business.”

What services do you offer?
“I specialize in tarot (60 minutes for $120). We also have other practitioners who see people in the shop, such as Elizabeth Rowen, who does 30-minute ritual sessions ($75) in the shop on Tuesdays. She’s a yoga teacher, and the sessions she holds help develop a personal ritual for the client that fits their specific needs. There’s also a retreat in April (from $1,600 without airfare), which will have a lot of well-known Atlanta yoga teachers in attendance. It’s going to be amazing.”
