When I asked how she came up with the idea, Carson’s eyes lit up and she added, “the idea for this concierge practice came up probably about eight or nine years ago when my husband and I were sitting watching TV. We were watching a show called royal pains and it's based on a concierge doctor up in the Hamptons going to all these billionaires’ homes and doing their visits in their house and I thought, 'wait a minute. First of all, why is this only available for Millionaires and billionaires and furthermore pregnant women? Hello! They go to the office 15 times during normal pregnancy. How amazing would it be, if she didn't have to do that? If the provider could come to her."
Carson also added, "I feel so strongly about empowering women, especially in their health care decisions. Traditionally, we’ve been told this is what you need to do. This is how you're going to do it, and it's been kind of a one-sided relationship. I don't think it should be that way. I think it should be a team approach where the provider and the patient work together to find out what's important to that patient, and I love being a part of one of the most intimate special moments in a family's life."
Since her journey with 2Me Healthcare began, Carson's practice has grown in popularity among socialites, but especially now with lockdowns and stay at home orders being put in place across the city and state. "No one wants to go to the hospital or doctor's office because of COVID19. So, by offering in-home support, we're helping keep women and their families healthy."
