Satisfy your culinary cravings—whether they be for sushi or ice cream, and everything in between—at five of Avalon’s recent openings.
1. District III
Nestled in the far corner of the end of the Phase II occupants is District III. From restaurateur Alex Kinjo, this spot is a tribute to his parents’ hometown in Vietnam. Dishes such as shaken beef, pan-fried noodles and lemongrass stir-fry make great options for both lunch and dinner. 7140 Avalon Blvd., 404.977.1779
2. MF Bar
Also from restaurateur Alex Kinjo, MF Sushi’s spinoff promises not to stray too far from its parent resto. Offering a wide selection of hot and cold small plates, sushi rolls, nigiri and more, this place is a chic and delicious sup spot to spend a night out. 7135 Avalon Blvd.
3. Brine Modern Seafood Shack
Featuring tiki-style craft cocktails and a rooftop bar, it’s the perfect place to enjoy seafood creations like lobster rolls and tuna poke in a laid-back environment that feels like a trip to the beach. The drink that comes in the classic wooden cup that everyone’s ordering is the mai tai—FYI. 700 Avalon Blvd., 470.226.2190
4. Rumi’s Kitchen
Get an authentic taste of traditional Persian plates such as lamb kebabs and roasted salmon over fava bean basmati rice without having to go to Sandy Springs. Feel free to dine later on Friday and Saturday nights when the bustling kitchen stays open until 11pm. 7100 Avalon Blvd., 404.477.2100
5. Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams
With the mission to make grade-A ice cream using direct-trade ingredients, Jeni’s is definitely a hot spot for a frozen dessert. If you’re in the mood for something fruity, opt for the new orange blossom buttermilk frozen yogurt. 800 Avalon Blvd., 678.894.1483
